§ 2-83. Execution of process and orders; authority vested by state law.

It shall be the duty of all police officers to execute and make returns of all process and orders issued to them by the mayor or other officer having authority to issue the same; and in the execution of their duties they shall be vested with, and have within the city, all the powers and authority conferred upon peace officers by the laws of the state.
