§ 2-37. Records open to inspection; return of property.

Latest version.

All books, papers, records and documents belonging to the office of any city officer shall be open to inspection of the mayor and city council. Whenever the duties of any officer of the city shall cease by resignation, expiration of office or otherwise, he shall turn over to his successor, or in case there be no successor, to the mayor or city secretary, all books, papers, records, documents and appurtenances of the city belonging to his office.
