§ 16-28. Unlawful disposal.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit, throw or permit or cause to be placed, deposited or thrown any litter on public or private property outside any house, building or structure unless the same has been deposited within containers as required by this chapter.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to transport garbage from any residence to any location at which the garbage is disposed of by a commercial hauler utilizing a commercial hauler's permit.

    (c)

    It is illegal for any business or person to deposit any special waste in or around any waste container (as defined in subsection 16-2(a)). Examples of these special wastes include, but are not limited to, tires, lead batteries, used oil and oil filters, or any parts thereof as defined herein. The fine for this offense shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) per offense.

    (d)

    It is illegal for any person to leave for collection within the city limits any municipal solid waste, brush, leaves, yard trimmings, or any other special waste or refuse in any way other than in an approve waste container or by an approved method of disposal.
