§ 9-6. Same—License.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to commence the drilling of an oil well within the corporate limits of the city unless a license therefor shall first be had and obtained as provided in this section.

    (b)

    Application for a license for the commencement of an oil well in the city shall be made to the city secretary on such forms as are from time to time provided, together with a licensing fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) to cover incidental expenses in inspection and regulation of licenses. If application for a license under this section is not approved, the license fee paid for investigation and inspection shall be retained by the city.

    (c)

    No license required by this section shall be issued by the city secretary without the affirmative vote of the city council first had and obtained at a regular meeting or at a meeting called for that purpose.
