§ 2-2. Official journal.

The city council shall, as soon as possible after each annual election for city officers, contract as it may by ordinance or resolution determine with a public newspaper of this city as the official paper thereof. Such newspaper shall continue as such official paper until another is selected. The city council shall cause to be published in the official paper all ordinances, notices and other matter required by the charter, by ordinance or by order of the city council. The editor, proprietor or manager of such paper shall furnish the city secretary two (2) copies of his paper containing any publication required to be filed in the city secretary's office as an archive for the future use of the city government.
