§ 13-9. Discharging firearms.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm within the city limits unless such person shall first obtain a permit from the city manager after application therefor. Such application shall state the time, place and manner in which such firing is to perform and shall outline in detail all precautions that are to be taken for the safety of spectators and such permit shall limit the time of such firing. If the city manager denies a permit for discharging of firearms, the decision may be appealed to the city council. Such permit shall be subject to be revoked by the mayor or city council at any time after it has been granted.

    (b)

    Discharging a firearm at an indoor shooting range that complies with all city, state, and Federal laws and regulations shall be exempt from the firearm discharge permit requirement.
